David H. Sorblum, CPA

Prior to founding DHS & Company, Mr. Sorblum was CFO of Franco Apparel Group where he increased and maintained profitability. In his years at Franco, he managed the firm’s relationships with banks, landlords, attorneys, accountants, IT, as well as day-to-day financial matters and long-term strategies.

He came to Franco from their accounting firm, DDK & Co. LLP, where he was a principal, for the express purpose of finding a buyer and negotiating the sale of the company. In March of 1999 the multi-million dollar sale was closed. Prior to DDK, Mr. Sorblum worked as CFO for the $90 million Youngworld Childrenswear Chain for eight years, and has an additional ten years experience with CPA firms specializing in textiles and apparel. He has negotiated bank, factor and investor financing, designed and implemented financial forecasting modules, installed detailed sales, payroll, and operations budgets, as well as IT and POS systems.

Mr. Sorblum graduated from the City University of New York with a BS in Accounting in 1974. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, The New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, and served on the Textile and Apparel Committee. He serves on Boards of Directors for Not-for-Profit and .com companies.

Susan M. Sorblum, MBA

Ms. Sorblum has over 25 years experience as a senior treasury executive in domestic and international environments. Prior to founding DHS & Company, Ms. Sorblum was treasurer of Cambrex Corporation, a publicly held $500 million international chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing company. At Cambrex, Ms. Sorblum raised $400 million in credit with favorable covenants at below prime-rate interest, created a foreign exchange hedge program to protect net income from currency fluctuations, invested and managed retirement assets, and managed capital through issuance of stock, secondary offerings, stock splits, stock option plans and purchase and sale of treasury stock.

Ms. Sorblum designed a worldwide insurance program that improved coverage and resulted in a $250M annual savings. She also was responsible for selecting an outside 401(k) provider, and established control over 401(k) accounting and assets of $50 million. Additionally, Ms. Sorblum acquired and installed IBM computers, fully integrated manufacturing software, and hired MIS staff and department head. Ms. Sorblum graduated cum laude from the City University of New York with a BS in Accounting and Computer Sciences in 1975, and earned an MBA in Finance from Pace University. Ms. Sorblum is a member of the Financial Executives Network Group.
